We match Colorado surrogates with intended parents from all over the world
We represent couples of every kind, married and unmarried, as well as single men and women who want to start a family. Our gestational surrogates undergo a thorough screening process; once selected, they reap the benefits of our full support. Our staff comes from the legal, medical and insurance worlds, as well as family and child therapy, mental health and project management.
Colorado Surrogacy is a proud member of Bright Futures Families
Through our relationship with Bright Futures Families, we are able to offer national resources at a local level. This partnership enables us to deliver the best possible surrogacy experience both to our gestational carriers and intended parents.
Who is Bright Futures Families
Started by two sisters, Jennifer White and Ellen Trachman, Bright Futures Families is the realization of a dream to make an amazing difference in the world. After focusing on the legal side of assisted reproductive technology law, Jenn and Ellen saw a need for intended parents and gestational surrogates to be able to find each other and receive support on a local, personalized level, without losing any of the expertise and professionalism of a national agency.
Families are created with love
We believe families are created with love. Because great parents come in all shapes and sizes, we created an agency committed to inclusivity and acceptance. And we’ve got legal boots on the ground—very important. One of our directors is an assisted reproductive technology attorney with years of experience. She’s well acquainted with Colorado’s legal and medical systems and with the state’s key service providers.
On the personal front, we’ve dealt with our share of infertility issues. We bring compassion and a parent’s perspective to this very personal, nontraditional, loving way of growing a family. We get it. We’re here to make sure your concerns are dealt with and your financial—and emotional—investment is protected.
The ideal legal environment for surrogacy
Colorado has one of the most surrogacy-friendly judicial systems in the country, which is a major reason we’re located here (we also love the lifestyle). Colorado courts routinely grant intended parents pre-birth parentage orders (PBOs) before the baby is delivered. Your name(s) goes on the birth certificate, and there’s no lengthy and expensive adoption. Our courts issue PBOs in a timely manner, usually within 2-3 weeks, and charge comparatively low court fees. Perhaps most importantly, Colorado does not use gender to dictate who can be a parent. Intended parents living anywhere in the world can form their families through surrogacy in Colorado, provided the surrogate resides in the state.
Choice of attorney is up to you
The intricacies of surrogacy and donation agreements require legal representation for both intended parents and gestational carriers. One of our directors is an attorney with Trachman Law Center, LLC, specializing in family formation law. Unlike many agencies that insist intended parents use in-house counsel, we leave that decision in your hands. The trusted services of Trachman Law Center are excellent. However, if you prefer, we’re happy to recommend other Colorado attorneys.
We customize your Agency Agreement
Your signed agency agreement with Colorado Surrogacy is a legal document specifying the services we’re obligated to provide. We customize our agreements to reflect the concerns and circumstances unique to your situation. Before signing the agreement, let us know if we’ve neglected to include a consideration that’s important to you, or if you’d like a clause explained in greater detail. Your agency agreement is open for negotiation until you’ve signed it.
Professional affiliations keep us current
Bright Futures Families is a member of SEEDS (Society for Ethical Egg Donation and Surrogacy), ASRM (American Society of Reproductive Medicine), RESOLVE (a national infertility organization), RESOLVE New England and the New England Fertility Society. We’re firm believers in ethical surrogacy practices. Certain of our staff are members of Colorado Fertility Advocates, the Reproductive Alliance, the LGBT Family Law Institute, the Colorado LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce, Men Having Babies, the Denver Jewish Chamber of Commerce, the American Bar Association’s Assisted Reproductive Technology Committee and Adoption Committee, the Colorado Bar Association Family Section, the Colorado Bar Association Women’s Section, and the National LGBT Bar.
